Volleyball team have a busy week this week. They played at Rancho Solano on Monday, hosted Leading Edge-Gilbert on Tuesday and will travel Thusday to Salome. Here are the results for their first two games.
JV vs Rancho: The JV girls went into another 3 set match, which has been a norm for them lately. After winning the first set, Ciero fell 1-2 to Rancho and lost the 3rd set 14-16. JV has a 3-2 record on the year so far.
JV vs Leading Edge: Its like a broken record now, another 3 set match for the JV team. This time they lost the first set and won the second and then fell in the third to fall to Leading Edge 1-2. Ciceri JV is now 3-3 on the season heading into the game against Salome on Thursday.
Varsity vs Rancho: Things started slow for Varsity against Rancho and they never really picked up from there. While the team kept fighting and competing and pushing Rancho, they fell in straight sets 0-3.
Varsity vs Leading Edge: On Domestic Violence Awareness night, which was Purple Out, Cicero stormed back to take the second set and even it up 1-1. The third set was a fight with both teams digging and diving for balls, finally after a 28 all tie, Leading edge stole the next two points to win 28-30. Down 1-2, Cicero fought in the fourth set and took the win 25-14 to force set 5. In the 5th set, it was tied 12 all when leading edge took the next two points to make it 12-14. Leading Edge pulled it out in the 5th when they won 13-15 and took the match 3-2.
