Multiple Teams · Cicero Basketball Teams Fall to SCA

Varsity Boys:

Cicero hosted the Scottsdale Christian Eagles. What made the game even more exciting was the fact that Freshman JT Mitchell got to play against his older brother, Senior Jake Mitchell. They got matched up quite a few times during the game. However, SCA dominated on the glass throughout the game, hurting Cicero with multiple 2nd and 3rd chance points. Cicero never stopped pressuring the ball, even late in the 4th when it wasn’t looking so good.  Freshman Quinton Brooks had his work cut out for him Guarding a 6’7 post down low, but never hesitated to take it at him on the offensive end. In the end Cicero fell 91-29.  Brooks had 12 points to pace Cicero, and Mitchell added 6 points.

Varsity Girls:

The Lady Centurions came out with some hustle and fight in their home game against SCA.  However, SCA experience, ball handling and passing cut through the Cicero zone defense and the Lady Centurions fell 61-15.  Cicero played SCA in Sedona earlier in the season and while the result was the same, the girls played with much more confidence and energy this game and you could notice the difference.  Sophomore Ernestine Wallace scored 8 points and Junior Johanna Hissler pitched in 5.

JV Boys:

After a close first half, the JV team fell to SCA 58-33. Freshman Quinton Brooks dropped 11 points and Freshman JT Mitchell added 6.
