Centurions News · MS Softball Claims Victory Over Tempe Prep

Isabella Pikus showed timely hitting last Thursday, driving in four on three hits to lead the Cicero Prep Centurions past Tempe Prepatory Academy 19-7. Pikus drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the second, and a home run in the third.


Cicero scored on a home run by Ava Caggiano, a walk by Taylor Tomey, a single by Pikus, a fielder’s choice by Savannah Paul, a wild pitch during Morgan Shipley’s at bat, a walk by Lily Allen, and a single by Caggiano in the first inning.


Ava Jazwin earned the victory in the circle for the Centurions. She went two innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out seven.  Allen threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen and closed the game.


Cicero smacked two home runs on the day. Ava Caggiano went deep in the first inning. Pikus went long in the third inning.


The Centurions had 11 hits in the game.  Pikus, Caggiano, and Darby Williams all managed multiple hits for Cicero. Pikus led Cicero with three hits in three at bats.  Cicero stole 11 bases during the game as four players stole more than one. Jazwin led the way with three.

The Cicero Athletic Director wanted the girls to know how proud of them he was and that he has taken notice that they are 2-0 with him in attendance.  He now has very high expectations on all games he attends. 🙂
