The Varsity girls who continue to grow and improve showed some life in their game with Heritage-Laveen.  Trailing 28-6 at the half, the Lady Centurions came out after the half and showed some new found energy as they outscored Heritage in the 3rd quarter 10-9.  In the end, Heritage was still a little much and Cicero fell 51-18.  Cicero got a huge game from Sophomore Ernestine Wallace as she hit three 3-pointers on her way to scoring 16 of the 18 points for the Lady Centurions.

Varsity Boys:

In the final game of the night, the varsity boys played an exciting and competitive game with Heritage-Laveen.  Both teams came out to play tonight and it was fast paced, with some athletic individual performances and some great shooting.  Cicero came out of the gate with some exceptional 3-point shooting from Freshman Quinton Brooks who hit 4 consecutive threes in the 1st quarter as he scored 12 of the 22 1st quarter points.  On the night, Brooks hit seven 3-pointers for the game and was the leading scorer with 22 points as Cicero pulled away from Heritage on the way to a 61-48 victory.  Junior Zach Van Voorhees was consistent the whole game, and ended the game with 17 points. Freshman JT Mitchell added three 3-pointers and 9 points.

Teddy Bear Toss:

During half-time of the varsity boy’s game, Cicero held their Teddy Bear Toss night.  The goal was to collect toys for the Phoenix Children Hospital and all stuffed animals collected will be donated for the holiday season.  It was a great night and over 30 stuffed animals will be donated.  Thank you to everyone who donated to this cause.  We appreciate you efforts.
