VOTING CLOSES JUNE 2nd at MIDNIGHT
Be sure to tell friends and family to vote! We’ll mail the winner a $20 gift card to Barros to use over the summer for their own little pizza party! Here are your choices:
- Santiago Martinez (MS Tennis) – Santi’s performance during GHMSL championships was stellar. He won his first match easily 6/0 and then went on to compete in his second match losing a hard fought battle in 7 point tiebreaker. He walked off the court with the greatest of sportsmanship. Being only a 6th grader, he has all the skills and talent to achieve anything he sets his mind to. He is a special tennis player!
- Michael MacDonald (MS Track and Field) – Michael MacDonald is the epitome of hard work and dedication. Michael had worked hard all year to qualify individually in the 100m and 200m dash events. Michael obtained the automatic qualifying time in the 100m with a time of 13.56. As the next few meets progressed the time fell outside of the top 32 participants that could qualify for the Championships individually. Michael was a part of the boys 4x100m and Sprint Medley Relay team. Michael is so dedicated to his craft that his precision and expertise allowed him to become a leader of those two relays. By perfecting his hand-off and communication skills, he led a team to new school record. He is the perfect example of what it means to be an athlete; humble, hardworking, and persistent.
- Halla Terris (MS Girls Basketball) – Halla was the captain of the team that was the vocal leader all season for the Lady Centurions. All you would hear from her before the playoff games was about how hyped she was to play! She led her team in points, steals, and assists during the playoffs, but during and after the playoff win and loss she was leading the girls with emotion and heart too. She truly was a force to reckoned with during the GHMSL playoffs this year!
- Mark Alway (MS Boys Basketball) – Mark Alway leads his team in every stat category. Mark never takes plays off and is consistently making the right plays on both sides of the court. He plays any position the coaches ask him, whether it be point guard or center. Mark is a true schoalr-athlete who leaves it all out on the court every night.
